I am unequivocally the “they” you speak about in this post, and not dissimilar to your guidance in the Harris campaign feel seen and affirmed as a Jew and liberal. In the unbelievable noise of this moment, we/I need to amplify , you and Jstreet.

Everyone forgets that Israel spent millions on the Iron Dome to protect people from Hamas rockets. Hamas spend their money on tunnels to get to and kill Israelis. This is the story that

has gotten hidden because it finished its news cycle. It is the most important element in the war. Israel protected their people so the media had pictures of dead Palestinians and not photos the the thousands of Israelis that Hamas didn't kill. Israel has my vote. It protected its citizens it did not spend time and money pteparing to kill others.

"They are deeply worried about Palestinian civilians and suffering in Gaza and put that responsibility on both Hamas and on this far right wing Israeli government."

Then they are deeply delusional- as are you. As long as Hamas cynically embeds themselves in civilian infrastructure, wears civilian clothes (often press jackets, NGO insignia), has not released civilian hostages, and refuses to lay down arms or surrender control of Gaza, it is 100% on Hamas.

If Hamas had even done one of these, your point might have a semblance of legitimacy.

Shame on you for failing to place blame where it clearly belongs.

Perhaps you can elaborate on JStreet's vocal and visible support for Sen. Sander's resolutions to disapprove arms sales to Israel and explain what exactly is "pro-Israel" about this posture?

I’m a subscriber to this newsletter, it’s very informative and lets us know that there a large number of Israelis and American Jewish people who aren’t on board with what’s going on in Gaza. Many are protesting what Bibi and co are doing there, but you’ll never hear a word about them in the American press.

Just remember, Israel Firsters thrive on being attacked. Sadly, people who disagree with them don't know this.

J Street is an anti-Israel organization, and it is no surprise to see you joining it. I’m glad you’re now more honest about where you stand. And yes, they are anti-Israel. They have called for an arms embargo on our ally, Israel, and they have (like you) stripped Palestinians of all agency in their view and policy. They have defended Ilhan Omar.

Funny, you say J Street is anti-Israel, and yet all your examples are how J Street is anti the current right-wing government of Israel. Actually pro-Israel.

I would thing anybody, like you, who supports people who are tearing down our country would be the anti-Israel one.

Uh, no. Calling for an arms embargo on Israel isn’t anti-“right wing”. It’s anti-Israel. The Israeli left also opposes such actions. Yair Lapid, head of a center left party, told the EU such an arms embargo was “unforgivable”. The Israeli left also thinks Palestinians are not given agency and that’s bad. And no one on the Israeli left likes Ilhan Omar, an antisemite. Yair Lapid said that Ilhan Omar is a “radical” who has used “unacceptable language”.

You want to defend an anti-Israel group, so you lie. That’s bad.

In response to Bernie Sanders and J Street trying to block arms to Israel, here is the response of two of Israel's leading opposition figures, who are left wing. Will you apologize?

Opposition Leader Yair Lapid: “Anyone who care about the people of Israel and the State of Israel should reject [Senator Sanders'] resolution which encourages the enemies of freedom and does nothing to improve the situation in the Middle East.

Chairman of National United Party Benny Gantz: The attempts of certain U.S. Senators to promote a resolution to block crucial weapon shipments to Israel is misguided, miscalculated and strategically mistaken."

Jewish American voter and long time Democratic activist living in Israel, here.

Just want to point out now why it’s clear that the Harris campaign lost Jewish voters faster than any other Democratic candidate in history. Have fun continuing to try to split the difference between Hamas and Israel. I give it less than 10 years before you all no longer even make the attempt to call JStreet a “pro Israel” organization. Maybe 5.

Hey Adam, did you notice how now 59 percent of Democratic voters say they favor Palestinians, while only 21 percent say they favor Israelis? What bubble are you living in?

A good move to make! Thanks for standing up to the Trump trail of destruction.

"Finally, my hope is that in addition to my policy expertise and years of experience on the conflict, I can also bring my reputation and experience as a bridge builder to J Street. This is a skill I have always prided myself on...." Yes, yes, yes.

Jeremy obviously hired the right person. Welcome to the J-Street leadership. I look forward to reading.your posts. You words help me clarify and define my position. So far, I agree with everything you wrote on your first post. I'm one of those Jewish progressives we cannot fail to act with urgency as we may not even have a free election in this country next year. If we let the Trump agenda and abuse of executive power continue much longer, I believe we'll be seeing and feeling more anti-semitism and targeting of Jews along with all the other vulnerable communities that are being targeted. I urge everyone to join the resist mobilization rallies taking place across the country April 5.

I look forward to reading your future columns as you begin a new chapter on your path. I do enjoy and mostly agree with your assessments of the issues regarding the conflict in the region. I do wish you would help us non-experts better understand how far Israel has strayed from the original intent of Balford Declaration.
